A Good Thing
As previously mentioned in our ‘Kent Wildlife Trust’ blog post, as part of our efforts to be more sustainable, alongside becoming members of 1% for the planet, each month we are partnering with a non-profit charity. This month, we have chosen ‘The Good Thing’ which is a company that connects businesses with charities in order to donate their product to where needs it most.
At the end of this month, we will donate a variety of sanitisers, hand washes, lotions, mists and gels which can be provided to children, the elderly and hospital charities.
A bit more about the CIC…
It all started when Cathy, a trustee for Home-Start Slough, found that staff were desperately in need of upgrading their outdated computers. SquaredUp, a technology business run by Richard, was in the habit of refreshing its staff laptops every few years and donated the laptops it no longer needed to Home-Start Slough. The charities staff could then spend more time supporting vulnerable families and less time battling with IT issues. The money saved was able to go directly towards the charity’s valuable projects. This is now their goal as a charity to matchmake between businesses and charities.
